Tournoi Regional Francais et Bilingue - Region Est

 You are cordially invited to the OSDU Eastern Regional Bilingual /French Debating Tournament hosted by Lycée Claudel  Wednesday January 27, 2010 at 4:00 pm.  All rounds will be done in French, but the option to participate in Bilingual for the provincials is available.

Two rounds in the Canadian National Debate Format will be held for the following resolution:

THIS HOUSE BELIEVES THAT Canada should stay in Afghanistan

CETTE CHAMBRE CROIT QUE Le Canada devrait rester en Afghanistan

There will also be an impromptu debate.

A description of the Canadian National Debate Format can be found on the OSDU website,www.osdu.on.ca under “Resources.”

We will be following OSDU rules and winners will qualify for the Provincial Championship in Ottawa from March 26 - 28.  Teams should be prepared to register immediately for that event should they qualify.  Est has been allocated 4 French teams and 2 bilingual teams based on registration numbers.

You may send up to 4 teams to the event.  Please provide one bilingual or French adult judge per team.  There may be openings for additional teams should a school not fill the four team maximum.

A fee of $60 per team of 2 students includes dinner, prizes etc. and is payable upon arrival.
